Tips to Engage + Excite Customers at Your Booth

1. Make it Interactive

People love doing something — even if it’s small. Here are some ideas based on your biz:

  • Jewelry Maker? Create a few pieces on-site or offer a charm bar where people choose their pieces.
  • Baker? Offer mini samples, or a “vote for our next flavor” station with jars and tokens.
  • Charcuterie? Do a quick folding demo or show how to pair cheeses with honey or jam.
  • Sorbet? Teeny tasting spoons and colorful toppings pull people in fast.
  • Soaps/Oils? Offer scent testing, hand treatments, or a guessing game: “Name this scent!”
  • Artist or Creative? Paint live, doodle between sales, or offer custom minis.
  • Woodworker? Sample wood to show the difference between wood grains. “Guess this wood?”
  • Handbags/Clothing? Area to turn on bags in a mirror
  • Massage Therapist? Schedule 5 min massages.

2. Tell Your Story

Customers connect with YOU — not just your product.

  • Add a framed “Meet the Maker” sign or behind-the-scenes photos
  • Share what inspired your business
  • Include a QR code for easy follows or newsletter signups
  • Consider a raffle for email signups!

3. Create a Vibe, Not Just a Table

People love booths that feel good. Try:

  • Cozy lighting (battery-powered string lights!)
  • Branded colors, cloths, or textures
  • Small, unexpected touches — like breath mints, handwritten thank yous, or mirrors

4. Budget-Friendly Booth Tips

You don’t need to drop a ton of money to look like a pro.

  • Print on a budget: Libraries often offer poster-sized printing for cheap
    • PRO-tip: I have a secret way to print cute signage for less than a dollar!
      • create a 4×6 graphic in Canva
      • save as a png
      • print 2 copies at Walmart as a picture! It’s only 32 cents!
  • Look for deals: FedEx, UPS, Staples often have specials
  • Dollar store magic: Grab risers, frames, and display baskets
  • Use what you’ve got: Scarves, crates, cake stands = instant elevation
  • Borrow from your network: Ask friends for tents, tables, or displays

Remember: your energy and creativity are the real draw. Your story and presence will always outshine the setup.
