Hungover on Inspiration: My Experience at Unleashing YOU Live
I’m actually hungover—but not from alcohol. I’m hungover from the energy and emotions I poured out on Monday. It left me speechless for days. I attended an event called Unleashing YOU Live, and it was nothing short of transformative. This event is hosted by Amanda Riffee. Amanda is a “corporate leader, event speaker, podcast host, happy wife, mom of two, loyal friend, and certified executive & success coach!” In the world of coaching I have come across many coaches that can be very surface and not relatable. From our first meeting until today Amanda has been nothing short of genuine, supportive, a resource and connector. She is the ultimate girls’ girl. I thought last year’s event was amazing, this year was she really took it to the next level. It opened my eyes, filled my heart with joy, and reminded me just how powerful it is to surround yourself with the right people.
Arriving at Unleashing YOU Live
The event took place at the Rally Hotel in Downtown Denver. After checking in, I wandered through the vendor booths, reconnecting with familiar faces from last year. One of the first people I saw was Lisa Broberg, a transformational health coach and functional RN. Lisa and I bonded at last year’s event over our shared journeys in entrepreneurship. She was actually the first person I ever confided in about my BIG DREAM. Since then, she has been a source of wisdom, offering me invaluable advice on gut health, mental well-being, and personal growth.
Then, I met Coach Sasha, our MC, a game-changer coach, led an exercise where we envisioned the person we aspire to become. As she guided us through it, something inside me broke open. When she said, “Be her now,” I lost it. She made me realize that the person I want to become is already within me—I just need to see her, believe in her, and trust her. Sasha has incredible energy and really got the vibes going to start the day off.
Transformational Moments
To begin, Amanda led us through a series of journaling exercises. We explored our deepest fears and redefined our goals, stripping away limiting beliefs. It was powerful and raw.
Then, Darcy Nelson took the stage. She performed her music that embodies healing mantras—songs she used to overcome her own traumas. Her story blew me away. She moved to Colorado with one plan and when that didn’t pan out she began singing on the streets of Denver and bartending. And now? She just debuted her first album, Music Medicine, in December of 2024. Oh, and she’s turning 40 this year. WILDDDDDD.
Next up was Bryn Elisabeth Carter. She’s done it all—real estate, advertising, marketing—and now she’s launching What She Said, a referral-based platform designed to support women-owned businesses. The idea is genius: it mirrors the way women naturally share recommendations.
“Where did you get your nails done?” “Oh, my best friend told me to go to Sally at Sally’s Salon—she’s amazing!”
It’s all about organic connections, and the more referrals you get, the better. And the best part? It’s completely free to post your business.
A Spiritual Awakening
Then came the moment I didn’t see coming. I decided to get an oracle reading—something I’d been curious about for a while. I sat down with Marianne and she asked me to choose a crystal. I was drawn to a smooth, pink one. She told me it was pink amethyst, a crystal that heals grief and softens hardened hearts. I nearly fell out of my chair.
I told her about my lingering anger over Fallon’s passing—anger at her leaving, anger at how she left. I couldn’t believe I had chosen that crystal.
Then, she pulled out the oracle cards. I asked if I was on the right path, if I was doing what I was meant to do. Her answer? Yes. She said my current journey is a stepping stone to my deeper purpose and that I need to spend more time in nature to fully understand it. That hit hard. I used to retreat to the mountains for clarity for my birthday, but I haven’t done that in years. Yet, every time I do, I feel reset. As she spoke, I felt a tightness in my chest—not pain, but intense pressure. It was the most surreal experience.
The Future Is Forming
Last year, when I attended this event, I had a vision of hosting my own event for military spouse and women entrepreneurs. This year, that vision expanded. Now, I see myself owning my own event space. It’s what I’ve always wanted. I imagine this space as a dedicated space for women-owned businesses—like an upscale, swanky version of an antique mall where vendors can rent space to showcase their work.
For now, I’m starting with event rentals. Then comes hosting my own events. Next? The event space.
I am bursting with joy, excitement, gratitude, admiration, and inspiration. This event reminded me that I am exactly where I need to be—and that even bigger things are coming.
I just need to be her now.
