Ways I Manage being a Wife, Mom, + Entrepreneur

New Post

I have talked about this a lot in the past but I think it’s always important to share that the snippets you see on social media are not the whole picture. It is extremely difficult to keep a clean home, cook healthy meals, build a business, take care of your kids and be PRESENT, spend time with husband/talk to your husband, practice self care, work out, and spend time with friends and family. I’m not even sure I listing everything I try to accomplish but I’m tired just thinking about it. There’s no way to accomplish all over it everyday or every week. I have time very hard to nail down some ways to try to tend to most of these things on this list and here’s how!

Create a list of daily goals

I am a very unorganized person. But, somehow I always find myself in careers that require me to be organized. As an event planner, I had to be organized and prepared for anything. Creating a schedule for my week has really helped. I don’t like scheduling by the hour but I like to set goals for the day. How I get it done or in what length of time is up to me.  My day starts around 530am. Getting up just an hour before my boys has been incredibly helpful. It truly helps me mentally and physically prepare for the day. My mornings aren’t as hectic and most of the time we are heading to school on time! Here’s an example of what my list of daily goals may look like:

  • Workout
  • Work in the garage
  • Prep for Dinner
  • Clean up Kitchen/Living area
  • Social Media Planning
  • Check-ins with Family/Friends

Carving out Me-Time

Within my daily goals there is always a goal that I take time to be by myself. This could be a walk, a workout with my trainer, Paul Sains with Insain Fitness, or just watching one of my favorite shows. For me, my workouts are a priority. They help me to clear my mind and I feel rejuvenated afterwards.

Recently I took a solo trip to Denver. This really allowed me to hit the rest button. I was able to go shopping by myself, eat my food while it was hot, paint my nails, clear my mind, sit in silence and reflect, wake up at my leisure, and go to a restaurant and eat at the bar. I love my babies but there isn’t much time for this. These simple things some people probably do daily or weekly just aren’t things I’m able to do. Click HERE to get a glimpse of my trip.

What do you do to make sure you are practicing self care? Let me know in the comments!

xoxo,

B
